Thor’s Uncle, The God Of Fear
Cul Borson, also known as the Serpent and the Asgardian God of Fear, was Odin’s more malevolent brother, imprisoned for centuries due to a prophecy that foretold he would one day kill Odin’s son. Eventually, Cul managed to break free and dropped a multitude of enchanted hammers on Earth, giving rise to a host of new disciples who spread fear in his name, thereby augmenting his power and influence.
When Cul initially confronted the Avengers, it was a grim and harrowing encounter. He effortlessly overcame Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, subjecting his nephew Thor to a particularly brutal defeat. Even when Captain America attempted to intervene with a well-aimed shield throw, the God of Fear seized the shield in his mighty grasp and shattered it, leaving the assembled heroes in awe of his overwhelming power in a truly symbolic manner.
Thanos in Avengers END Game
During the climactic battle between the Avengers and Thanos, a pivotal moment occurred when Captain America, to the astonishment of onlookers, managed to wield Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, demonstrating his worthiness.
In the midst of this final showdown against an alternate version of Thanos, Captain America dual-wielded the shield and Mjolnir. Regrettably, the strength of the formidable Bruta Thanos, with his double-edged sword, proved overwhelming, resulting in the shattering of Captain America’s shield.
This moment left audiences in disbelief since the shield was constructed from vibranium, renowned as the strongest metal in the universe. The idea that the shield could be broken was a shocking turn of events, adding to the dramatic intensity of the scene.
Doctor Doom
In the Marvel Universe, there are few supervillains as renowned as Doctor Doom. When an all-powerful entity known as the Beyonder transported both heroes and villains to his own Battleworld to determine whether good or evil was stronger, it became evident that Doom’s formidable reputation was well-earned.
True to his nature, Doom bided his time on Battleworld until he saw the opportunity to strike at the Beyonder, seizing the immense power of the Beyonder for himself. When the assembled heroes eventually agreed to confront him, Doom annihilated them from a distance, reducing their gathering to little more than a crater of dust, bones, and various superhero artifacts. Notably, Captain America’s shattered shield was prominently displayed at the center of the chaos.
Lord Thor from the Future
Earth-3515 represents just one of the myriad potential destinies for the Marvel Universe, and in this particular iteration, it is governed by a rather unkind God of Thunder known as Lord Thor. He essentially embodies the standard version of Thor, albeit older, even more formidable, and possessing fewer upright morals.
The backstory of Lord Thor was unveiled in a flashback to the year 2020, during which he ascended to unparalleled power and obliterated anyone who stood in his way, including his former allies in the Avengers. In a chilling sequence, Lord Thor, alongside his brother Loki, personally executed a vast number of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, among them Wolverine, Doctor Strange, and even the Hulk. The most devastating fate, however, was reserved for Captain America, as both he and his iconic shield were erased from existence by a burst of the Odin Force emanating from Thor’s eyes.
